It is a beautiful thing, when a career & a passion come together.
There has been plenty of change in my life lately, bringing new opportunities and opening doors that I never knew existed before. Therefore, I decided to start off my first post with a little "life catch-up".
So, I'm currently finishing my undergraduate career; a junior, majoring in Biology and up until a couple of months ago, I absolutely loved the idea of a career in the medicine field.
I can't think of an exact day or an exact moment even, I just know that something changed.
I subtlety started picking up writing as a hobby; you know, with no future thoughts I bought a beautiful leather journal and then I decided to start a blog for a fun way to write my thoughts down and before you know it I'm reading books on "writing your first novel" and getting an internship as a blogger/writer. But to tell you the truth?
I couldn't be happier. I fell in love with writing, it turned into my perfect get-away.
Serendipity, you could say.

Now, the obvious question keeps popping up; you're not going to be a doctor anymore? And the most honest answer I could think of is also the most vague, "I don't know". How do I know where I will be 2 maybe 3 years from now! Because rewind 3 years and I thought I had my career and my future planned out, but that just goes to show how unexpected life can be, no matter how many plans you make. And I'm perfectly okay and content with that.
I'll be 21 years old in roughly 2 months and they say nothing will ruin your twenties more than thinking you should have your life together. I'm just trying to find my place in the world, discovering what I'm good at and what I enjoy doing. And as of today, I want to write. It's possible that it might not go far or that it won't go anywhere at all, it'll definitely be a struggle but it's a struggle that I am enjoying 10 times more than the struggle of my science classes.
Truth is, no matter what you decide for your future, you will have to endeavor and there will be a crazy amount of obstacles. There's equal parts of fear and courage within me, the key is to trust the process and give it your all. Regardless, you will struggle along the way, I just think you have to figure out which struggle you don't mind going through.
